Apple has unveild redesigned Mac Pro in June. Today it is on sale starting at $2,999 for the base model and $3,999 for the 6-core model. Totally redesigned from the inside out and top to bottom, new mac features the latest Intel Xeon processors, dual workstation-class GPUs, PCIe-based flash storage and ultra-fast ECC memory.
Apple has considered every element that defines a pro computer when building new Mac Pro. The base model of the Mac Pro comes with a 3.7 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM each, 12GB of memory, and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage. If the base model is not enough powerful for you you can check out higher-level model. It features a 3.5 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs with 3GB of VRAM each, 16GB of memory, and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage. These are not really upgrade friendly systems. So better think twice before choosing one.
